How We Do Therapy

We believe in fostering a collaborative partnership with our clients and empowering them to discover their strengths, build resilience, and live more fulfilling lives. Our counseling process typically follows these key steps:

STEP 1

  • The counseling process begins with an initial contact, either through a phone call, email, or online inquiry. Our counselor gathers basic information and schedules an initial assessment appointment. The assessment appointment allows the counselor to gather more detailed information about the client's presenting concerns, background, goals, and any relevant history.

STEP 2

  • The counselor collaborates with the client to establish treatment goals and develop a personalized treatment plan. The treatment plan outlines the strategies, interventions, and techniques that will be used to address the client's concerns and work towards achieving their goals.

STEP 3

  • Throughout the counseling process, our counselors regularly monitor the client's progress towards their goals and assess the effectiveness of the treatment interventions.

    Based on this ongoing assessment, the counselor may make adjustments to the treatment plan as needed to ensure that it remains responsive to the client's evolving needs and goals.

STEP 4

  • Our counselors utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), among others. Sessions provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, gain insight into their experiences, and develop coping skills to manage challenges effectively.

STEP 5

  • Closure involves reviewing the client's accomplishments, discussing any remaining goals or challenges, and planning for the continuation of progress beyond the counseling relationship.

    Follow-up sessions may be scheduled as needed to provide additional support and reinforcement, or clients may choose to return to counseling in the future if new concerns arise.
